ACTIVATE is owned and operated by Julie Aureli, an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer and Orthopedic Exercise Specialist with eight years experience in the industry.

JULIANNE AURELI

 

Owner / ACE Certified Personal Trainer / ACE Certified Orthopedic Exercise Specialist / ACE Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist

 

Julie founded Activate Fitness + Nutrition as a continuation of her lifelong calling: to compassionately and ethically lead and serve.

 

As a fitness professional, this means empowering clients inside the gym so that they are able to ACTIVATE their potential outside of the gym. For some, that might mean the freedom to live independently and pain-free. For others, it might mean gaining a competitive edge in their sport. And for most, that means looking great and feeling great! Whatever the goal, Julie aims to partner with her clients and to provide appropriate challenges to set the course for sustainable progress.

 

Julie began her career as a Personal Trainer in 2007. Spurred by her clients’ needs and the evolution of the industry, Julie is committed to continuing education. As a Certified Orthopedic Exercise Specialist, she is an expert on transitioning clients back to a total body program and teaching them how to avoid further injury during phases of healing. Julie has also recently completed a course on Cancer and Exercise in order to safely and effectively train clients through treatment and recovery.

 

Julie counts her personal experience as a client as a valuable resource for connecting with others. Throughout her career, her own training has included bodybuilding, “strongman-style” events, powerlifting, yoga and strength and conditioning.

 

In her personal time, Julie enjoys traveling, trivia, and spending quality time with friends and her big, loud Italian family.

JEREMIE HURD

 

Jeremie has been fascinated with how the body moves and works since a young age. Through working at various health clubs over the past 3 years he has developed a passion for helping people reconnect with their bodies by introducing better movement patterns. He loves seeing how exercise can give people confidence to love themselves where they are at.

 

Jeremie graduated from UMass Boston with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health Science and is proficient in a wide range of disciplines in the field from TRX to kettle bells to interval training to powerlifting and strength training.

 

When he’s not at the gym, Jeremie and his wife, Jade enjoy cycling, board games and traveling.

MIKE MACDONOUGH

 

With 8 years of coaching, strength training, and injury prevention, “Mac, Mike, or Mellow” uses his experience on the football field to serve both athletes and non-athletes alike. After studying Sports Medicine, he completed his Undergraduate degree at Penn State University. While there, Mike studied Bio-Mechanics, Organizational Leadership, and Neurology.

 

Mike was also a part of a player development internship at Gillette Stadium, which led to an opportunity to return back to his Nittany Lions and a position on the Bill O’Brien football recruiting staff in State College, PA.

 

Mike’s serene mentality is unique in the coaching community, but has proven to be a strong asset in the competitive world of athletic preparation.

 

Off the clock, Mike and his fiancée Ali enjoy surfing, gardening, and spending time with their playful pup, Gemma.
